I’ve travelled to a place or two and I can sincerely say that the Legian in Bali is by far the most luxurious hotel I’ve stayed in. My room was as big as most London flats I’ve been in or bigger! I came here through a recommendation from a friend who we joined for his 40th birthday celebrations via a trip to Singapore. Let’s just say he’s got a penchant for lavish things. I’ll let the pictures do some of the talking on this one.
Do views get better than this? 
We did a lot of relaxing by this bar, watching the sunset. 
Onto the food I ordered some ‘meat’ spring rolls – I reckon it was pork with julienne vegetables? It was a mystery but, they were fresh from the fryer and that spot was definitely hit with them. 
Mie goreng (Indonesian noodles) with chicken. I refuse to believe this was 100% authentic but since I didn’t have a chance to explore locally and eat with the locals I’ll reserve full judgement. It was easy enough to eat though, better if it wasn’t so salty. The excess moisture from the overloading of vegetables probably killed the wok-hei a bit too.
It was a blended juice of some sort – yes gross to look at but nice to taste.

The damage: Expect to pay $150-$200 (£12-£20) for the food and £350-£400 per a night for the rooms.
The good: The Legian really drip exuberance like I’ve never experienced before, the surroundings are really jaw-dropping and they have prices to match! Sadly I was hit with hardcore food poisoning which knocked me for six the day I arrived, but the in-house doctor was helpful and so were the smiling staff who were no end of a delight to deal with. I’d left my favourite jacket in the wardrobe en route to the the airport, had the hotel not of called me it would have come home to London with me!
The bad: The food is expensive for what it is, I’d explore options if I were to visit again.
